Social Media apps have taken over the Mobile phone, whether it would be Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat, social media is an application staple in everyone’s mobile phone. The use of social media has varied according to everyone’s need, it could stay as an app to connect you to your friends and family, or it could your new source of information and engagement to the world’s latest and most recent information. With that said, the use of social media on the mobile phone is completely versatile for the users, but what if social media allows you to create your own avatar, and dress them based on real-life brand items or products?

Bitmoji is a software company, (currently owned by social media company Snap. inc, commonly known as Snapchat) avatar character that you create and personalised its details of physical attributes to facial features to your own liking. Most people create their bitmoji to mirror their own self, Creating a mini version of you, as an emoji character with funny expressions or an expressive facial cues unlike text messaging, today Bitmoji has worked with different social media apps such as Snapchat, Facebook Messenger, iMessage, Google, and even Slack.

Bitmoji has also cleverly worked with various fashion brands to help design their product and integrate them into a wearable product for your avatar, or as they called it Bitmoji, Now you can dress your own Bitmoji in real-life brand items from top brands of Ralph Lauren, Nike Jordan, Adidas, Levis and many more, given your Bitmoji to try on different clothing and style that you can purchase in real-life. Now you can scan the Ralph Lauren Polo Pony logo from anywhere it appears on Snapchat, including on clothes. They’ll then be brought to various online Ralph Lauren experiences

The potential for this feature in bitmoji is still far from researched and remains potentially unknown, but if this is utilised properly, it has the potential to be a very strong influential marketing, that may touch on and create a different a new style of digital interactive marketing, perhaps could be developed together with Artificial intelligence technology, something we will have to keep our marketing eye on and watch.
