Barbara Boser, Making Money Online Since 2009

Becoming an Amazon influencer can be a rewarding and fun way to monetize your online presence and recommend products you love to your audience. Here’s a step-by-step guide to becoming an Amazon influencer:

Step 1: Build Your Online Presence

Before you can become an Amazon influencer, you need to establish a strong online presence. This typically involves creating and growing a following on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook (business page) or TikTok. Choose the platform(s) that align with your interests and where your target audience is most active.

Step 2: Grow Your Audience

Consistently create valuable and engaging content to attract and grow your audience. Focus on producing content related to a specific niche, industry, or interest to establish yourself as an authority in that area. Engage with your followers, respond to comments, and stay active on your chosen platforms.

Step 3: Meet Amazon’s Eligibility Requirements

To become an Amazon influencer, you need to meet certain eligibility requirements:

You must have a qualifying social media presence on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook.
You need to have a significant number of followers or subscribers.
Your content must comply with Amazon’s policies and guidelines.
There isn’t really a set number of followers, I’ve seen people be approved with a few hundred. I thoughts are that they want to see engagement. I was approved with my YouTube channel 2800 subscribers.

Also, please be aware that whatever name you have on your social media page will be your Amazon influencer storefront name. So, if you want something specific make sure you change it before you apply.

Step 4: Apply for the Amazon Influencer Program

Once you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for the Amazon Influencer Program. Go to the Amazon Influencer Program website (https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/influencers) and click on the “Join Now for Free” button.

Step 5: Complete the Application

Fill out the application form with your personal information and social media profiles. Be sure to provide accurate and detailed information about your online presence and the type of content you create. This will help Amazon evaluate your application more effectively.

Step 6: Wait for Approval

After submitting your application, Amazon will review your eligibility and content quality. The approval process can take some time, so be patient. While waiting, continue producing high-quality content and engaging with your audience.

Step 7: Set Up Your Amazon Influencer Page

If your application is approved, you will receive an email notification from Amazon. Follow the instructions in the email to set up your Amazon Influencer Page. Customize your page with a profile photo, cover image, and bio that reflects your brand and personality.

You will need to upload 3 videos to be approved for commissions. You get 3 tries, so if you get denied the first time, be careful since you only get another 2 attempts. Your videos should be enjoyable to watch, use good lighting and make sure the sound is good and they can hear you well.

Step 8: Create Product Recommendations

As an Amazon influencer, you’ll have access to a personalized storefront where you can curate product recommendations for your followers. Add products from Amazon’s vast catalog that align with your niche and audience’s interests. Be authentic in your recommendations and only promote products you genuinely believe in.

Step 9: Share Your Influencer Page

Promote your Amazon Influencer Page on your social media platforms, website, or blog to drive traffic and sales. Share links to your product recommendations and explain why you love each item. Use caution here. There are lots of rules about where you can share and promote your link.

Step 10: Monitor Performance and Optimize

Regularly check your Amazon Influencer Program dashboard to monitor your performance and track clicks, conversions, and earnings. Analyze what products resonate best with your audience and optimize your recommendations accordingly.

Remember, becoming a successful Amazon influencer takes time and dedication. Stay true to your niche and engage with your audience authentically to build trust and loyalty. Happy influencing!
