Okay, this may have been one of my most randomly worded article titles yet.
But I mean it. I firmly believe — with every inch of my heart — that literally everyone should get on the journey of content creation (if they haven’t already done so).
Because at the risk of sounding extremely corny, I can safely attest to the huge benefits that my own content creation journey has given me — which I will touch on later.
And I’m writing this article simply because I’ve seen a gazillion articles talking about how to improve one’s content creation skills, how to make money off it, how to cheat your way through it with ChatGPT… the list goes on.
Sure, that’s great for people who are already content creators, at least aspiring to be one.
But I’ve rarely seen any content that shares why you should even be doing it in the first place.
Why should you pick up your phone and start recording, or your pen and start writing?
Why should you spend extra time every day trying to create something, when you could easily use that time to rest or hang out with your partner?
I’ll tell you. And the benefits may actually come as a surprise to some of you:
Just for context: I create content mostly by writing online and creating the occasional fashion-related TikTok.
But what that’s done for me is help me expand my mental horizons.
Before my content creation, I was just a marketing executive, running campaigns by day and looking at spreadsheets of data by night.
And while that may sound exciting relative to other drier jobs, it can still be repetitive and have the tendency of narrowing your perspectives a little too much.
